About Heritage Haven
Heritage Haven is a Christian Homeschool Cooperative made up of like-minded families all over the world, working together and supporting each other to maximize the homeschooling experience for all involved.
Heritage families seek to know the truth of our Lord, YHVH in every facet of life and education.
We look to the revelation of the Word of God for our source of truth and understanding over of the traditions and philosophies of the world.
"Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from him.
Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one's youth."
Psalm 127:3-4
About our founders
Hi we're Brendan and Liz Rooney. We are a homesteading, home birthing, home churching, homeschooling, ministry family. Brendan is the Overseer of Free Range Family Ecclesia and a work from home software engineer. Liz is a minister alongside him at Free Range Family, Owner of Elisheva Loves Yeshua LLC and Director of Heritage Haven Homeschool Cooperative. We are an adventurous outdoors family that loves to travel, grow food, forage, and live life as close to YHVH's design as we possibly can. Will hike for waterfalls!
Homeschooling honestly wasn't our preference at first, but the Lord changed our mind. Now we believe it is not only a call on our lives by the Lord to home educate our own children, but also help other families who are weird like us.
We knew that we wanted a solid YHVH centered education for our children, but were disappointed to see our options for "Christian" private schools and even the homeschool styles and curricula that we saw available. We knew there had to be something closer to what our Father God designed for our children's education and that's when Heritage Haven was started. For 3 years we ran only as a local co-op in a small Wisconsin town until we realized the need for Hebraic-Christian education worldwide.
A growing amount of families are waking up to the deception, not just in the secular world but also in the church, and they are leaving man made religious denominations and institutional education in droves to seek the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth of our heavenly Father and His Son Yeshua. By the power of the Holy Spirit we can raise our children to be the true Ecclesia in a crazy world.

About Hebraic-Christian Homeschooling
Hebraic Christian Education is a holistic, functional, and family-centered approach to lifelong learning that keeps God the Father and Yeshua our Messiah, at the center.
The Hebraic Christian approach to education gleans from the Hebrew heritage and way of thinking that we have been grafted into (Hebrews 11:11-31) while also living as believers in the New Covenant, being indwelt and empowered by the Holy Spirit.
We enjoy learning about the Hebrew language and culture, and observing the Biblical feasts to help us develop a rich understanding of God’s word, but we do not hold the position that these things are necessary for salvation. Rather, we see the beauty of God’s story of redemption through His Son and desire to walk in His design for life and godliness. (2 Peter 1:3)
The Guiding Principles of a Hebraic Christian Education:
Knowing God and His will for our lives
Family over institutions
Discipleship in Godly Community (the Ecclesia)
God's design for health, Spirit, Soul, and Body
Educating the Whole Child
Development of Functional Knowledge and Practical Skills
Concrete Thought and Action over Philosophy and Abstract ideas
Growing in Biblical knowledge and Spiritual Truth
Cultivating the gifts and talents given to our children by God to help them Live out the fullness of their calling in Jesus Christ (Yeshua Ha'Mashiach)
Heritage Haven Is Appreciated By Families Who Are:
Christ Followers
We believe that Jesus Christ of Nazareth (Yeshua Hamashiach) is the only way, truth, and life. We believe in having a true relationship with God over religion and denominations. We are part of the worldwide body of Christ (Ecclesia), united to serve the one true God and continue the works of Yeshua as He instructed us to do.

Holy Spirit Filled Believers
The Holy Spirit dwells in us to teach, guide, comfort, and empower us to minister to others. We believe in supernatural miracles and manifestations of the power of God as the Father wills for His glory. We believe in training our children to not just be a member a church institution, but to be the church (Ecclesia) and a carrier of the power and presence of God, moving in the gifts of the Holy Spirit as the Lord leads to build up body of Christ and equip the saints. Children do not have a Jr. Holy Spirit, but the same exact Holy Spirit that moves through adults can move just as powerfully through children as we use Biblical wisdom and discernment from the Spirit of God to guide them.
Passionate About Learning
We believe that Homeschooling is the best option to provide our children with a well-rounded, biblically-based education. We believe that parents are the most highly qualified people to teach their own children. We are passionate not only about preparing our children for the education or career path of their choice, but more importantly to live their God given purpose on this earth and developing the unique gifts that He has equipped them with to do so.
We believe in teaching the whole child, and that true learning goes way beyond the memorization of facts or information in a textbook.

In the World, but Not of it
We know that we are Christ followers in the middle of sin-filled world and a culture that is growing increasingly hostile to God. It's not possible to avoid everything that is sinful or has a pagan origin (even the days of the week are named after false gods.) However, we do believe that it is our responsibility to search for the origins of the traditions of men and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit to discern what is best for our family to participate or not participate in. We desire to be a people that are set apart from the world and display the goodness and glory of God.
See to it that there is no one who takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception in accordance with human tradition, in accordance with the elementary principles of the world, rather than in accordance with Christ. Colossians 2:8
Truth Seekers
While we choose to place our focus on our mighty God and His power, we are also aware that our adversary, the devil, seeks to sell our children lies as truth. We teach our children how to exercise wisdom and discernment when learning new information and how to separate truth and facts from lies and agenda. We believe that scientific theories should be taught as such, and not used as biased propaganda.
There is the history that we are told, and the hidden history that we dig for. We teach our children to question everything, rely on the Holy Spirit for wisdom and discernment, weigh concrete evidence, and test everything with scripture.
We love to expand our knowledge of the word of God by studying the culture and context of when it was written as well as the original languages that it was written in.

Connected to Yahweh's creation
We are passionate about teaching our children how to eat well and live a lifestyle of divine health; using the Lords creation as led by the Holy Spirit. We see the immeasurable value of teaching our children the timeless basics of nutrition, foraging, organic gardening, herbal remedies, instinctive parenting etc.
We trust that the Lord's creation is good and choose to use His means of healing and health over the world's methods and pharmakeia that is idolized in today's society.
We believe that God is not against science, but that He created science for our well being and much of what is considered science today is subjective.
And well... Busy!
We value a homeschooling community that helps us make the most of our time and energy without adding unnecessary stress to our weekly schedule. We share the load with each other in many ways and build each other up.
We encourage families to connect on a deeper level with others in the group to bear one another's burdens, help teach each other's children to allow more social interaction for the kids and give each other time to rest, reconnect with God, run errands, etc.
There is no pressure to attend everything. Each family can choose the level of involvement that works for them.
